DAY 2 - LACES, ETHNIC & HISTORIC TEXTILES

Historic and vintage textiles from museums & institutional and private collections will be auctioned at Augusta Auctions, 51st specialty auction event. Lovers of historic textiles and vintage clothing have been planning their 2019 pilgrimage to our Sturbridge, Massachusetts auction venue since last year's sales ended. Collections offered at the Wednesday sale include textile treasures dating as far back as the 15th century. These treasures originated from the closets and backrooms of many prestigious institutions including Museum of the City of New York, the Goldstein Museum, The Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology, the Strong Museum, Fairfield Historical Society, Ohio State University, the American Textile History Museum and more than two dozen other institutions, estates and private collections. Proceeds from this sale help to provide financial support earmarked for the preservation and maintenance of museums permanent collections. The catalog lots are open for preview at 11AM on Wednesday May 15th with the sale starting at NOON. Quilts, paisleys, Suzanis & historic textiles will be sold on May 15 during Session 2 of our museum sale. Those unable to attend in person can bid online through the Live Auctioneers bidding system.
