The December 7 auction will offer a dazzling array of Important Estate Jewelry spanning the Antique, Victorian, Edwardian, Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Modern eras by some of the world’s most prestigious makers, including Cartier, Tiffany & Co., and Van Cleef & Arpels.. The sale will also offer fine watches and objets de vertu, including elegant compacts, cigarette cases and cufflinks. A special section will showcase PROPERTY FROM A PROMINENT AMERICAN FAMILY, comprising over twenty lots of exquisite jewelry dating date primarily from the 1930s through the 1950s. Highlights include a diamond and platinum brooch designed as a rose in full bloom by Paul Flato (lot 1472) and an alexandrite and diamond ring by Yard (lot 1474). Part II of the ALFRED COSSIDENTE COLLECTION OF FINE POCKET WATCHES offers a century of production by some of the most prestigious names in horology, including both American and European examples. Highlighting the collection are repeaters by Albert H. Potter, Jules Jurgensen and E. Huguenin, as well as a rare Waltham Premier Maximus in the original box and a very rare open face watch by G.P. Reed of Boston.
