The Old Barn Auction is proud to announce the first of several sales from the former collection of Gilbert W. Dilley of Akron, Ohio. This auction is scheduled for March 15, 2008 at 10:00 AM EASTERN TIME. As former President of the Ohio Historical Society, founding member of the Ohio Archacological Society, and extremely close and personal friends with both Shetrone and Mills, Mr. Dilley was able to acquire exceedingly rare and authentic Ohio Prehistoric Artifacts. Many of the lots being offered have Never been offered for sale and are, for the first time, coming openly to market. Furthermore, numerous lots are pictured in an assortment of Moorehead's books, Townsend's Birdstone Book, Knoblock's Bannerstone book, Who's Who #1, and a plethora of other old publications and sources. Numerous original "never seen before" privte photographs will be on display of many of the pieces, dating from 1935 through 1962. This is an exceedingly rare opportunity to purchase material of this quality and of this nature. These items have not been offered since the Max Shipley sales. The first sale of Gilbert W. Dilley's material will be from Lot #1 -#451. He is pictured in WW I with his collection. There will be a few lots from other collections that will be sold After the Dilley material.
