The fabulous leaf brooch with cabochon emeralds is by Cazzaniga. David Bierk's Flowers in Stone to Fantin-Latour and Manet, an oil painting on canvas encased in concrete, is among the innovative works of fine art offered in November. A featured painting is Late Afternoon, Monterey Coast by Mary McNeale Morgan (1868-1948). The set of four superb woodblocks by Charles W. Bartlett depicts scenes of Hawaii and Asia. Among the one-of-a-kind furniture pieces and decorative art objects is the impressive West African ceremonial bed made of wood carved with animals, figures and patterns. Continental antiques include the Baroque German inlaid walnut desk and the massive Venetian Rococo giltwood mirror, both dating to the 18th century. The Hopi painted pottery vase dates to the mid- 20th century and is signed by the artist, Fannie Nampeyo, highly sought by collectors. The massive garden sculpture of bronze and steel by Bay Area wildlife sculptor Patricia Payne depicts an eagle with wings spread, a favorite subject of the artist.
