Welcome to RCI’s Ultra Rarities Spring, 2003 Auction #4. This is a public sale and also for subscribers of the Top 100 Insights and Value Guide publication, consignors, and guests.

PAYMENT FOR WINNING LOTS

Payment is due immediately upon closing of the auction so that consignor’s accounts may be settled. Winning bidders will be notified of which lots they won, and invoiced within 10 days of the closing of the sale. Payment will be considered late if it has not been received by RCI within 19 days of the close of the auction.

If paying by personal check, please allow 21 days for the check to clear before winning lot (s) will be shipped.

If paying by cash, Postal Money order, or bank check, lot (s) will be shipped within 7-14 working days of the receipt of payment.

If paying by credit card, winning lot (s) will be shipped within 5 working days of receipt of a Visa, Master Card, or American Express credit card number. To ensure credit card security, please telephone or FAX your credit card number prior to the auction, or immediately after the auction. Do not send your credit card number via E-mail, or through an unsecured server. A 5% credit card merchant fee will be added to any credit card payments above and beyond any Bidder or Seller Fees or U.S. postal expenses.

Failure to Pay: If the Auction invoice is not paid in full within 19 days of the close of the auction, the unpaid balance will bear interest at the highest rate permitted by law until paid, and if the Auctioneer refers the invoice to an attorney for collection, the buyer agrees to pay attorney’s fees, court costs, and other collection costs incurred by the Auctioneer, including time spent during the collection process at a rate comparable to the hourly rate of independent attorneys.

Storage of Coins: Buyers are reminded that certain types of plastics may react with the coin’s metal over time and may cause damage to the coin. Caution should be used to avoid storage of coins in materials that are not inert (ie. soft plastic flips).

Digital Images: Printing color is prohibitively costly, so color images of select coins will be posted to a referenced Internet site. Fees for imaging are accrued to consignors.

Auctioneer disclaims all liability for damages, consequential or otherwise, arising out of or in connection with the sale of numismatic property by Auctioneer to Bidder. Any statement made by the Auctioneer is a statement of opinion and does not constitute a warranty or representation.

Consignors: Consignors of numismatic property may participate in the auction by bid and may purchase his/her lots from the auction sale whether or not they are a subscriber of the Top 100 Insights and Value Guide publication. A consignor is required to place his bids on his property no later than 48 hours prior to the commencement of the auction. If there is a reserve bid on the lot, bidding will open at 100% of the reserve bid. The "reserve" bid will then also be known in this catalog as the “Minimum Bid” (MB).

Buyers: A buyer’s fee is charged in addition to a successful bid. The fee is 10% of the aggregate of all coin (s) purchased in the auction plus an additional 5% if purchased through E-Bay live auctions (15% total). Once a bid is made it cannot be retracted.

Credit: Bidders who are not known to the auctioneer and who do not have established credit (ie. Credit Card on file or prior business with the Auctioneer) must furnish satisfactory credit or send a 25% deposit of their bids which is applicable to their purchase. If a credit card is used to purchase coins, a credit card fee of an additional 5% will be added to the purchase price to offset the expense of the merchant credit card charge back. Otherwise, refer to terms for payment below.

Good Faith: The Auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid, or limit the amount of any bid which, under his opinion, is not submitted in good faith (ie. bidder’s under age or under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or irresponsible for payment, etc…). The Auctioneer will honor bids on good faith.

Bidding Errors: The Auctioneer cannot be responsible for your bidding errors, so check your bids carefully. Only acknowledged bids by RCI will be accepted. When identical mail, FAX, or Internet bids are received from different bidders, preference will be given to the first bid received.

Warranty: No warranty, whether expressed or implied, is made with respect to any adjectival or numerical description contained in this catalog.

Certified Coins: Coins sold referencing a third-party grading service (“Certified Coins”) are sold “as is” without any expressed or implied warranty. Buyers should contact the grading service in question about their expressed warranty.

Raw Coins: All non-certified coins are not guaranteed as to grade or certifiability, since grading is a matter of opinion. The Auctioneer will give a best effort to describe the condition of all coins as his experience dictates.

Sales Final: All sales are final unless a material mistake in cataloging is made (ie. misattribution).

Shipping and handling charges will be added to Invoices for the lots delivered by mail. Lots having a value of $250 or more will be shipped via U.S. postal registered, insured mail, otherwise they will be shipped by insured mail unless modified by witten agreement by the buyer or seller and the auctioneer. Title to the lots pass to the buyer upon receipt of registered, or insured shipment.
