Whitley?s Auctioneers presents Buttons of Distinction Auction, taking place August 9, 2020. This event boasts a dazzling array of specimens from the 17th through the 20th centuries. Highlights include select pieces from the Collections of Alethe Allen (Florida), Gerrie Meyer (California), Shelley Strick (California), as well as the remaining lots from the Collection of Mona Brown (Virginia).

In these 475 lots, you will find a 17th century genuine Smuggler?s Button; a rare 18th century cut-out design over red foil under glass button from Dieppe, France; Plique-a-Jour, Gin Bari and other beautiful enamels; fabric buttons including Passamentrie; colorful glass Tingues and other Division One examples; a rare 18th century copper with all over paisley design, as well as other 18th century coppers; several rare Lacy glass examples, including a never seen before auctioned scalloped star center specimen.

Other material examples featured in this auction include casein by Edith and Alan Brooks, celluloid, Ivoroid, rare horn buttons, scarce picture buttons, a variety of Bakelite, rare aluminum, many excellent Satsuma examples, a selection of Shibayama inlays, and much more.
