TERMS OF SALE Purchased lots will be available only after payment has been made and our accounts credited. The sale will be conducted in Euros. In addition to the hammer price, purchasers pay a buyer’s premium of 22 % plus VAT of 4.31 %. The VAT can be reimbursed with proof of exportation. GUARANTEES The auctioneer is bound by the indications in the catalogue, modified only by announcements made at the time of the sale noted in the legal records thereof. Attributions were made in view of scientific and artistic knowledge at the date of the auction. An exhibition prior to the sale permits buyers to establish the conditions of the works offered for sale and no claims will be accepted after the hammer has fallen. Some difference may appear between the original work and its catalogue and online reproductions. However, there will be no claims in such matter. Measurements are given only as an indication. BIDS The highest and last bidder will be the buyer. Should the auctioneer recognize two simultaneous bids on lot, the lot will be put up for sale again and all those present in the saleroom may participate in this second opportunity to bid. The standard bidding practice is to attend the sale and bid in person. However, we accept telephone bids from potential buyers who have expressed interest prior to the sale. We will bear no liability / responsibility whatsoever, in the case that the telephone contact is not made, or if it is made too late, or in the case of mistakes or omissions relating to the reception of the call. PAYMENT The buyer must pay the full amount due (including the premium as stated in the condition of the sale) within ten days of the sale. This applies even if the buyer wishes to export the lot and an export license is, or may be, required. The buyer may pay by wire transfer or by Visa. Personal checks, Paypal and other credit cards will not be accepted. The buyer will not be allowed to retrieve or have the lot shipped until all amounts due to us have been received by us and/or credited to our bank account. COLLECTION OF PURCHASES The lots not taken the day of the auction can be retrieved at the auction house in Neuilly-sur-Seine after 2 pm on March 10th. Buyers are advised to collect purchased lots as soon as possible to avoid handling and storage costs which may be incurred at their expense. The auctioneer is not responsible for the storage of purchased lots. If payment is made by cheque or by wire transfer, lots may not be withdrawn until the payment has been cleared. From the moment the hammer falls, sold items will become the exclusive responsibility of the buyer. The buyer will be solely responsible for the insurance, L’Hôtel des Ventes de Neuilly assumes no liability for any damage to items which may occur after the hammer falls. An export license can take five or ten weeks to process, although the time may be significantly reduced depending upon how promptly the buyer supplies the necessary information to L’Hôtel des Ventes de Neuilly.
