Fine American Antiques March 13, 2005, 12 p.m. 1600 Fourth Street North, St. Petersburg, Florida Preview March 12, 10-6 p.m. and March 13, 10-12 p.m. Early preview by appointment. We are delighted to announce our winter Americana Auction in sunny Florida featuring over 500 fresh-to-the-market fine American antiques. The sale includes over seventy-five pieces of period American furniture, with highlights being a Queen Anne highboy and Baltimore Federal secretary. A modern edition to the traditional lineup of furniture is a signed 1962 George Nakashima 14' conoid bench. Historic and nautical items drawn from various estates in Florida, New York and New England include a 1775 Scituate, Mass. Revolutionary War cartridge belt and knapsack, Abraham Lincoln autograph, Andrew Jackson document, several ship models, half hull, marine paintings and items from the Admiral William S. Sims Estate, Providence, RI. A special selection of American silver features early coin silver, Kirk, Tiffany and other makers. Other categories include a wide array of decorated stoneware, pottery, doorstops, baskets, weapons, clocks, lighting, early glass, carved canes, ephemera, folk art and photography. Textiles including many quilts, coverlets, samplers, beaded needlework and hooked rugs along with Navajo and Oriental rugs are being offered. Listed American paintings and American Indian pottery, baskets, silver and Eskimo ivory will conclude this exciting auction.
