BIDIT Auctions offered many Important Collections items in this 20121 New Year. in these auctions are the Oriental Chinese collections from the estate of Joseph Y Shook passed down to his heirs. He was a global entrepreneur collecting many highly collectible items during his intercontinental travels. These items were passed to his only son John A Shook.
John A Shook, (1926-2019) born in North Carolina to Joseph Y and Anne Elizabeth Shook. Immediately following high school graduation, joined the U.S. Army, including deployment to southern Germany at World War II. He earned a Degree at Lees-McCrae College. John worked in the automobile industry in the early 1950?s in Detroit, MI.
John met his wife Carol in Detroit where they were married in 1956 and remained there where John worked as master carpenter, realtor, and builder. He also completed his working for Cadillac Motors HQ and Research Facility.
John and his family moved to Tennessee and then to the Acworth Georgia area where they have lived the last 34 years. During his retirement years John enjoyed collecting many antiques, working in his wood shop on various projects including assembling powder musket rifles. He also enjoyed participating in Civil War battle reenactments.
