For this auction sale we are happy to be able to present to our bidders a collection of objects derived from the famed Estate of Mr. Stanley Batkin of Scarsdale, New York. This collection includes many interesting antiquities relating to the land of ancient Israel and objects of Judaic religious and cultural life. Mr. Batkin was an ardent, active supporter of the State of Israel where he also travelled frequently and, as a representative of American organizations he met many of Israel?s prominent leaders of his day. This is an opportunity to acquire objects from the Batkin Collection and we will provide a Certificate to that effect upon request. The objects derived from his Estate are clearly marked in our catalogue. In addition, we present well selected objects from local collections in the Boston Area, a collection of paper material and Ephemera from Connecticut as well as Southern New Hampshire.
