AUG 14 2010 MORPHY AUCTIONS ZEAGER COLLECTION

50 Year Collection of Frank & Rhoda Zeager Frank and Rhoda Zeager put together this wonderful farm related collection over the last 50yrs. Frank attended an auction in 1960 with his father-in-law and purchased a pair of old door hinges. His father-in-law asked him where he would use the hinges and Frank replied "I just want to look at them." Those hinges started Frank on a major path to collect farm-related antiques. Frank and Rhoda attended thousands of auctions, flea markets and antique stores purchasing the objects that they both enjoyed. Rhoda had a great eye and frequently would find things that Frank passed by. Over the last 10years, I have never seen Frank without Rhoda at his side, the same way they spent their wonderful lives together. Frank is one of 17 children and became an ordained Mennonite Minister in 1954. Frank and Rhoda lived in a 100 year old homestead. They had three children Dot, Lester and Mervin. Lester, the oldest son, is a professor of Economics in North Carolina and has two children. Dot, the oldest daughter lives in Lititz and has four boys. Mervin lives in Lancaster and has two adopted girls. Franks interest in milk bottles began over 30 years when he purchased a Foltz bottle for $40 and today it could be worth $2,000-$3,000. Rhoda had a passion for peanut butter tumblers, some of them are in this auction. Rhoda passed away in March of 2010. Both Frank and Rhoda based their lives in trusting the Lord and attribute their success in this Trust. Morphy Auctions is proud to present the Zeager collection with an emphasis on local makers including Elizabethtown, Mt. Joy, Harrisburg, Hershey, Lititz, Lancaster and others. Plan to join us on Aug. 14, 2010 for this historic sale.
