Session #2– Selling a Large & magnificent collection of antique furniture, sculpture, paintings, important silver, antique Oriental carpets, Art glass, Fine porcelain, Rare antique clocks, music boxes, Rare & Important toys, Doorstops, trains, Orientalia, Antique photographs, Cache of literally thousands of documents, letters, diaries & small objects of virtue from a family that arrived to this continent in 1634. The group incl many exciting items from the Mid to Late 18th c. incl a group of diaries, artwork & needlework from the adolescent Anne Baldwin while attending “Miss Pierce’s School” in Litchfield, CT in the 1790’s. We have just begun to read the documents & letters and have discovered important autographs & content! Items incl a well known American Revolutionary War physician’s diaries from 1775 discussing diseases of American Indian children, a letter from Longfellow, the finest miniature portraits we have ever seen, ca. 1830 of Eurotas Hastings & his wife (Founder of Hastings, Michigan, etc.) – A True Treasure Trove!
