Visionary art collector and seminal TV producer Douglas S. Cramer lived, together with his husband Hugh Bush, surrounded by a genteel mix of traditional English furniture, modern decorative arts and items designed by collaborators for his various residences. Working together with designers Michael Taylor, David Easton, Chessy Rayner and Mica Ertegun, Cramer created residences in New York City, Martha?s Vineyard and Miami that reflected his personal taste and complemented his outstanding collection of contemporary art. This sale reflects the aesthetic vision and design successes of these residences. Highlights include a pair of parchment and macassar ebony consoles and a selection of side tables designed by Mica Ertegun, a Swedish folding table by Otto Wretling, a pair of Regency mahogany console tables with marble tops, a silk velvet chair designed by Nicky Haslam, wall lights designed by Frances Elkins, a George III mahogany three pedestal dining table, and a George III mahogany chest on chest.
