Apollo Galleries and Auctions has the pleasure of presenting to you a new two-day catalogue for May 2022 with a breath-taking assemblage of art from the ancient world. This new catalogue boasts beautiful authentic ancient art and antiquities which has been carefully vetted by an array of specialists including Emma Saber and Laetitia Delaloye both of them with significant experience in Christie's; Russel Scott, who has been the authenticity officer for the Viking Society for over twenty-six years. James Brenchley, a dealer with vast knowledge and experience as a head of Antiquities department in Hanson's auctioneers. The catalogue is divided in two days - Classical and Asian Antiquities (Saturday 14.05) and Ancient Jewellery and Weaponry (15.05) Our May catalogue appeals to all areas of the collective market including superb Greek and Roman pottery, Egyptian masks, Roman glass and lamps. Stunning wearable gold jewellery, weaponry, including rare Chalcidian helmets, Medieval period swords with inlaid handles, Viking axe. The Asian section includes a diverse selection of Gandharan sculptures, and Chinese figures and bronzes in the form of horses and riders, attendants and animals. Apollo Gallery is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with this magnificent assembly of ancient art. We hope that this catalogue will be a fitting testimonial to many truly inspired collections.
