Prehistoric & Historic Artifact Auction

The Old Barn Auction is proud to present Part II Indian Relic Auction scheduled for Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 10:00 AM EASTERN Time. This auction is made up from the Fine Old Collection of David R. Collins, Springfield, Ohio. Collection is offered by Garry Mumaw, Versailles, Ohio. Clem and George (grandfather & father) dug on numerous sites, during David's childhood, in Clark County and south central Ohio Counties - Greene, Adams, Clinton, Warren and Scioto. Also, they bought several relic collections for David. The first being Mr. Walter Kelly's collection and Mr. Arthur Altrick collection. Many fine flint, slate, and stone relics came in this collection. The Mr. Arthur Altick collection was purchased in the early 1940?s. Altick had been the curator of the Clark Co. Historical Society and he did several digs on important Clark County sites. Manring Mound (Hopewell high status ceremonial items) and the Campbell Mound Group (Hopewell burial items) explorations yielded very rare ceremonial objects that went into David Collin?s collection before he had graduated from High School in 1950. There will be approximately 500 lots for the beginner to the most advanced collector. There is a 13% BUYER'S PREMIUM FOR ALL INTERNET BIDDING. All items will be laid out by May 9, 2011. If you have questions or need extra pictures of items, please contact us at auction@oldbarn.com or call 419-422-8531. We will start answering questions May 10, 2011. INVOICES: Invoices will be e-mailed to all internet bidders by Monday or Tuesday MAY 16 OR 17, 2011. WE WILL NOT HAVE INVOICES READY ON SATURDAY OR SUNDAY.
