THE FRENCH HOUSE SALE OF COUNTRY AMERICANA

We are proud to present the lifelong collection of Harvey and Sandy Sussman. Harvey and Sandy, both educators, had the luxury of spending two months every summer, from 1976-to-1986, in Vermont, renting homes on Mt. Ascutney. Their day trips ranged far and wide in their quest for country Americana ?early furniture, redware, samplers, and folk art. They visited all the leading shops/galleries in VT, NH and Maine and even village tag sales. Having excellent taste, an acute eye and an abundance of patience, their collection slowly took shape. Now, as they sadly told me, ?it?s time to bring our collection back to where it came from.? We have combined the Sussman collection with items from an old Francestown, NH family to round out the auction. The sale will be displayed in the historic French House located in Plainfield NH at Smith?s Auction Gallery. Please make plans to attend the preview and see how early American life looked from inside an 1820s homestead.
