American & European Art

The American and European Art auction will offer more than 100 lots of paintings, sculpture, and works on paper from the 19th and 20th centuries. Of particular note are works on paper by European artists Marc Chagall, Joan Miro, Henri Matisse, Mary Cassatt and Maurice Utrillo. The European session also includes paintings fresh to the market by Le Pho, Jean Dufy, Albert Marquet and Suzanne Valadon. The American session of the auction is highlighted by a rare and early painting by regionalist Dale Nichols and an important hunt scene by one of America’s preeminent sporting artists Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait. Other American artists of note featured in the sale are John George Brown, Willard Leroy Metcalf, and Harriet Frishmuth.
