McCormick Estate of the Arts

Hill Auction Gallery is honored to present the McCormick Estate of the Arts Auction, on Wednesday, September 28, 2022: a sale of fine art, rare furniture, jewelry, and other treasures from the collection of the American gallerist and philanthropist Maria McCormick (1937-2021). The collection was assembled over a lifetime that was dedicated to curation, conservation, and preservation of art and objects of virtue.
Mrs. McCormick’s passion for collecting was shared by her husband, the late J. Peter McCormick (1948-1987): their shared devotion to art continued a long tradition of patronage by members of the extended McCormick and Deering families.
Her collection, exhibited in galleries and housed in curated storage in Chicago and Coral Gables, includes fine art from the Modernist, Abstract, Surrealist, and other schools, from highly exhibited artists, including Ricardo Cinalli, Jamini Roy, Rufino Tamayo, Victor Vasarely, Francisco Toledo, David Alfaro Siqueiros, Nadin Ospina, and Oswaldo Vigas.
Other highlights of the McCormick Estate of the Arts include primitive tribal art pottery and wood carvings from Africa, Robert Eickholt art glass, and scarce, hard to find, designer luxury fashion couture.
Please join us on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at Noon, Eastern Time, for the McCormick Estate of the Arts sale from Hill Auction Gallery.
