Francis, Samuel Walters, Maurice Quentin De La Tour, Alexandre Calame, and many others. Leading the folk art category is an ink drawing on 78-record sleeve by outsider artist Bill Traylor, and an American Federal period architectural gilt eagle. On this day, an excellent group of rare documents will be presented, such as a 1783 George Washington signed furlough for New York artillery man Sgt. Elijah Price, and an 1804 ship?s passage signed by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison; plus a group of ancient artifacts including Egyptian mummy masks and early terracotta pieces. Antique furniture to be presented will include a Gothic period Continental paint decorated black walnut hunt chest or sword coffer, an 18th c. Philadelphia mahogany serpentine chest, and 7 early tall clocks. The marine selection will include 12 lots of scrimshaw, 4 sailor?s valentines, and 9 ship models.
