The auctioneer will open the bidding at the higher of approximately 10% above the second highest mail/fax/email bid received or at the current internet leading bid, or the consignor?s reserve. All bids received will be reduced whenever possible. If there are no bids received or reserve, the auctioneer will open bidding at the opening bid. In the PDF/hard copy catalogue, the opening bid is indicated with the price in RED, bracketed right before the estimate prices. Opening bids are in fact not Reserve bids by default. In some cases, consignors will place reserve bids up and above the actual opening bid designated by us. This is why in some cases the Auctioneer will call lots sold to the book even though the Opening Bid has been met or superseded. In these cases the lots are considered unsold and usually returned to the consignor. We reserve the right to bid on behalf of the consignors at any time during the auction sale and without notice to the bidders and to further protect any auction lots that may carry a low reserve/opening bid by bidding on the lot from the sale at any time during the bidding process. (Face value, gold & silver content etc.) Any item offered in this auction sale may be subject to a reserve price, which is the minimum price acceptable to the sellers. The auctioneer reserves the right to withdraw any lot for any reason at any time prior to its sale. Prices are in Canadian funds. Bidding in this auction will be in Canadian funds. Mail bids received from USA customers will be converted at the exchange rates of the sale?s date rate.
The estimates listed are taken from the Canadian Coin News, Charlton catalogs, Canadian Dealers News letter and retail prices, e-bay sales, Cornwell report and/ or the actual market selling/ asking prices. Key dates and Highest grade material will generally command a premium and should sell close to and/ or above the estimates. Our estimates are fair and reasonable, please bid accordingly. No lot should sell less than 50% of the low estimates. Usually, with a bid of 70% of the highest estimate, you have a fair chance of succeeding, with a bid of 100% of the highest estimate, you will be likely to succeed. For special, popular and rare lots, estimates can be largely exceeded.
