Highlights include artworks from a famous collector, Wang Aiyun, in the Republic of China. Wang Aiyun (1906-2004) was born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. He has close contacts with Xu Beihong, Zhang Daqian, Pu Xinshe, Huang Junbi, Shen Yinmo, Xie Zhiliu and other painters. The collection is extremely rich, and he later went to Taiwan.
Wang Aiyun followed Luo Jialun in educational administration and cultural work, and successively held important positions in Central University, National Chengchi University, National Taiwan University, Taiwan Education Department, and the National History Museum. He collects antique calligraphy and paintings in his spare time. (After retiring as a civil servant in 1968, he devoted himself to painting and calligraphy and became a famous collector of calligraphy and painting.)
In his early years, he had close contacts with calligraphers and painters such as Xu Beihong, Zhang Daqian, Huang Junbi, Shen Yinmo, Xie Zhiliu, and Fu Baoshi. He has a rich collection of calligraphy and painting, among which he inherited his father's collection of calligraphy and painting, and was influenced by Mr. Zhixi, which enriched his appreciation ability. In 1948, he was hired as the chief secretary of National Taiwan University, and invited Huang Junbi, his wife and other scholars to Taiwan on the Zhongxing ship. When he was in the Department of Education, especially as a representative of the government, he visited Mr. Pu every week and was the only guest of Mr. Pu Xinyu, so his collection was extremely rich.
