Pocket Watches & Accessories

Our first pocket watch sale of 2012, at 456 lots, is our largest one so far. From famous modern brands such as Rolex to the older respected makers, such as Charles Frodsham, this sale provides the enthusiast with a varied selection of items to pick from. For those with a keen interest in history, we have a 14k gold pocket watch by Berlin maker Gebr Eppner, given by Kaiser Wilhelm II to Charles Robinson, head gamekeeper at the Lowther Estate is estimated at £1,800-2,200. Our cover lot is a gilt repeater with an elaborate repousse case signed Gusterm, London, but with a movement style more indicative of the watchmakers of Friedburg, will provide an interesting piece for the more discerning collector and is estimated at £2,500-3,500. Buyers with a fascination with movements and their development will be interested in Lot 10, a watch by Stauffer, with a dead beat centre seconds hand powered by its own train, estimated at £200-300.
