We are delighted to announce our Winter Americana Auction in sunny Florida featuring over 500 fresh-to-the-market fine 18th and 19th century American antiques. The sale includes over one hundred pieces of period American furniture, the finest collection we have had the privilege to offer. Fine listed American paintings by William J. Whittemore, Whitney Hubbard, Thomas Benjamin Pope and a landscape American Indian painting attributed to Frank Tenney Johnson. The auction also includes many historic, nautical and whaling items drawn from various estates in Florida, New York and New England. Categories include a wide array of folk art, decorated stoneware, American clocks, doorstops, baskets, Civil War weapons, clocks, lighting, early glass, carved canes, ephemera, toys, gold coins and photography. A special selection of rare sports memorabilia including signed Babe Ruth and Jackie Robinson baseballs. Textiles including many quilts, samplers, needlework and hooked rugs along with Navajo rugs and other Native American Indian items. American silver features early coin and sterling silver by Tiffany & Co., and other early makers. A collection of four panoramic Zuber "Views of North America" French scenic wallpaper. A fine collection of over 25 antique oriental rugs acquired from various estates. Many of the items being offered are from East Hampton, New York estates including rare early Women's Suffrage Movement items from the estate of Jane Norman Smith (1874-1953), chairman of the National Woman's Party from 1927-1929.
