Over 500 lots with a selection wide enough to whet nearly any bibliophile's appetite. Fine press books begin the sale, with highlights from Doves Press, Golden Cockerel Press, and Peter Koch, to name just a few. Following that comes a selection from the magnificent Isabel Downs collection of modern illustrated bestiaries and livres d'artistes. Fine bindings and miniature books center the offerings, including Robert Hoe's copy of Thomas Carlyle's French Revolution in a luxurious Grolier Club binding as well as a micro-miniature volume measuring in at just 0.95x0.95 mm, once the smallest book in the world. Nearly 200 beautifully colored pochoir plates of elite art deco fashion from La Gazette du Bon Ton introduces a section of illustrated books. A large offering of antiquarian tomes includes two Aldine editions, a manuscript by Sir Walter Scott of a Scottish song, and the first edition of Lola Montez's secrets to being both beautiful and fascinating, and is bookended by several lots of golf books.
