CONTENTS OF DU PONT MANSION "CHEVANNES"

Mid-Atlantic Auction is excited to present the estate of Martha T. McKinnon. A former longtime Princeton resident, Martha was a woman of impeccable taste and a deep passion for the finer things in life. Martha attended Vassar College, earned a BA degree from Hunter College, and a degree in interior design from Parsons School of Design. She was an interior designer, an avid gardener, and collector of antiques who loved historic houses. Martha's purchase of Chevannes, modeled after Bois-des-Fosses, the ancestral du Pont family home near Chevannes, France provided the perfect backdrop for her lifelong collection of antiques and decorating prowess. The collection is rich in 18th and 19th century Continental furniture, paintings and decorative arts with an emphasis on French material. Other categories of note include a fine collection of sporting art, an extensive collection of antique Garden furniture and decorations, old master paintings, period lighting, a large library including fine bindings, Chinese & European porcelains and glassware, 18th and early 19th century English and American furniture, a fine collection of English & American portraits, fine carpets, clocks, antique prints and a closet full of bolts of fabric.
