Winter Collections

Stefek's Winter Collections Auction rounds out the end of the year with spectacular offerings spanning fine art, majolica ceramics, decorative items, and even a vintage 1987 Porsche. The highlight of our fine art selection for this auction is a 1914 oil on canvas work by French artist Maxime Maufra, titled "La salle a manger apres le dejeuner (The Dining Room After Lunch)". An oil on board still life by Henri Lebasque will be on offer, as well a floral oil on board by Elizabeth Paxton titled "Vase of Flowers". Other artists represented in this auction include Pierre Bittar, Edgar Yaeger, Fred Wehmer, Addison Thomas Millar, Dwight William Tryon, William Lester Stevens, and more. An extraordinary collection of majolica ceramics will be available, with works by George Jones, Jose Cunha, Odell and Booth Brothers, Delphin Massier, Manuel Mafra, Joseph Holdcroft, Minton, Coquelet Alexandre, and more. The majolica collection is headed by a beautiful fox and rabbit compote by George Jones, as well as a majolica gun dog game-pie dish by Minton. Mid-century furniture in this auction includes a pair of LAR chairs designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller, a pair of DAX-1 chairs, a unique John Van Koert for Drexel "Profile" tripod table, a set of three foil stacking tables by Georges Briard, and three pieces of Robsjohn-Gibbings for Widdicomb furniture. More antique furniture to include a French marble top pastry table, a tall-case clock by R. Bryson, a pine barrel-back corner cabinet, a Spanish trestle table, and a Victorian palm frond cast iron bench. Decorative items to include several lots of American and English pewter pieces, a variety of blue and white pottery both Chinese and Dutch, and a large collection of Jay Strongwater frames of differing sizes, shapes, colors, and decoration. Four vehicles will be on offer in this auction: a 2008 Hummer H3, a 1998 BMW Z3, a 2005 Lotus Elise, and a 1987 Porsche 911/930 Turbo.
