Dr. Philip Gould a distinguished Professor of Chinese Art at Columbia University and Sarah Lawrence College, was in his personal life a passionate collector of tribal art and artifacts from around the world. This collection from Dr. Gould has a dazzling variety of cotton and silk textiles, garments, and accessories featuring traditional techniques and craftsmanship from tribal regions in Taiwan, Bhutan, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, India, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, China, and Japan. Also included in this auction are a large collection of silk and cotton Indian Saris from Dr. Gould Collection.
