A Lasting Legacy: Estate of Michael Mennello

Freeman’s Hindman is proud do present the collection of Michael Mennello of Winter Park, Florida. Mr. Mennello was exceedingly proud of his collection of art, furniture, and decorative objects, and, as the following lots will attest, for good reason. A relentless supporter of local Florida artists, Mr. Mennello, alongside his wife Marylin, has avidly collected works by Michele Byrne, Paul Scarborough, and Duncan McClellan, all of whom are offered here along with several other regional artists. These works skillfully blended into his vast collection of American Impressionists which included works by Theodore Earl Butler, Richard Edward Miller, John French Sloan, and Joseph Raphael, who are also represented here as well. This incredible collection of fine art, paired with exquisite antiques, and delicate glass sculptures resulted in one of the more enviable collections in Florida. It would give Mr. Mennello a great deal of joy to know that these cherished pieces will find their way to new homes where they can be appreciated and loved by kindred spirits.
