April 24th marks the first Post War & Contemporary Art auction of the Now Together era at Freeman’s | Hindman with a tightly curated presentation of 83 lots of in demand paintings, drawings and sculptures. Headlining the sale are two mesmerizing Alex Katz paintings with his masterful stylized representation fully on display, an ethereal atmospheric Pat Steir waterfall painting, an aggressively gestural Michael Goldberg action painting from the heyday of Abstract Expressionism and a stately large scale Louise Nevelson relief in her signature black providing a portal into refined realms of creativity. Also of note in the auction are exceptional explorations in abstraction from Al Held, Pat Lipsky, Kenneth Noland, Albert Oehlen, Jules Olitski, Larry Poons and Peter Schuyff.
