Session 1 (Lots 1-44): Caza Sikes is honored to offer the Maysville Stoneware Collection of our friends, Debra and the late Charles Cotterill. The Cotterill's are lifelong residents of Maysville, the early city of Mason County, Kentucky, which holds rich early settlement history and material culture. Session 2 (Lots 45-207): A great run of fine and decorative art, ranging from golden-era Cincinnati paintings, to works on paper from Picasso, to decorative examples of lighting, sculpture and other wares for the home. A highlight of the sale is a gouache by Henry Farny, depicting the Earl of Dunraven and his native guide. In the western category, Farny's Cincinnati contemporary Jospeh Henry Sharp is represented with three ranging works, including a firelight scene. Session 3 (Lots 208-453): Session 3 of this auction is dedicated to Ceramics, Art Pottery, Studio Pottery, Art Glass and other three-dimensional works of this nature. Included are fine and rare examples of Rookwood Pottery including a run of artist-decorated plaques. Other famed art potteries such as Marblehead, Pewabic, Grueby and more are all represented. Cabinet vases from Tiffany, Steuben, and examples from other glass makers round out the sale which includes lighting, architectural faience tiles, and more.
