Aboriginal Art Sale

Smalls Auctions is proud to present our Online Sale of Australian Aboriginal Art, running from 19 March to 26 April. This exceptional collection features 265 lots, including early shields, spears, woomeras, stone axes, and rare artefacts from across Australia. Highlights include a superb early broad shield from the Murray River region, forty-seven boomerangs collected over decades—including a rare example from Ballarat adapted by a Chinese miner in the 1880s—and a finely engraved boomerang from western New South Wales. Collectors will also find coolamons, baskets, fish traps, and a remarkable single outrigger canoe from the Torres Strait. The sale showcases ceremonial items such as didgeridoos, dance wands, skirts and jewellery, reflecting the rich cultural traditions of Indigenous communities. It concludes with evocative bark paintings that capture the spirit of Country. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to acquire significant pieces of Australia’s Indigenous heritage. Bidding is now open at Smalls Auctions.
