Modern & Contemporary Art

We invite you to join us for our Modern & Contemporary Art auction on June 24, 2025! From internationally recognised artists to local Boston names, this sale covers a wide breadth of material. Unique Surreal and Abstract works such as the work of Leon Kelly, are accompanied by pieces from the collection of Norman & Myrna Katz, which features artists from Boston's Valley Realists school including Gregory Gillespie and Scott Prior. In conjunction with the Boston Public Art Triennial, this auction is a celebration of artists from traditionally underrepresented communities such as Harriet Casdin-Silver and Doris Lindo Lewis, both pioneering women within their fields of Holography and Surrealism. Themes mis-represented within traditional art history are reimagined through artists such as Lalla Essaydi, Jane Lund, and Riva Lehrer, all of whom explore female identity and ideas of conventional beauty within their work. In tandem with these themes, artists such as Victor Butler and Duhirwe Rushemeza work through ideas surrounding community and displacement. The auction also highlights beloved Modern & Contemporary artists, featuring an exceptional painting by Will Barnet, a striking impressionist work by Fernando Amorsolo, and the works of LeRoy Neiman, Peter Max, and Tom Blackwell.
