Fisher has spent a lifetime hunting down, seeking out, and acquiring World's Fair memorabilia. Fisher's collection focuses primarily on the 1939 New York World's Fair, 1962 Seattle World's Fair, and the 1964 New York World's Fair. The auction offers hundreds of World's Fair pieces, to include many scarce and hard-to-find items.
About Albert Fisher's Long Association And Love For World's Fairs And Expositions:
Award-winning television Producer/Director Albert Fisher has a life-long and distinguished association with World's Fairs. Fisher began his media career in his hometown of New Orleans when he was just 16 years old. He co-produced, wrote and appeared in one of the most popular local television shows of the era, hosting Saturday night horror movies on WWL-TV. At the young age of just 20, he was made Director of TV and Movies for the 1962 Seattle World's Fair and then landed the same job for the 1964 New York World's Fair. He was also media consultant for Montreal Canada's Expo 67. These high profile positions offered him the unique opportunity to meet and become friends with scores of famous television personalities which led to a life-long career in New York where he worked on such landmark series as "Ted Mack and The Original Amateur Hour" and "Candid Camera" on CBS, "The Merv Griffin Show" in syndication, "I Witness Video" on NBC and numerous series on cable networks such as Discovery, HGTV, The History Channel, Travel Channel, National Geographic, among many platforms.
Along the way, he was honored with winning a National Emmy Award, a citation for his broadcasting career from The United States Congress, The Distinguished Service Award from The Caucus For Producers, Writers and Directors, among other such honors.
