Wooten & Wooten is thrilled to announce our September 6, 2025 catalogue auction Fall Estates and Collections at Auction. This sale features the collection of James V Nixon Jr. of Philadelphia, PA and Augusta, GA who focused his collecting primarily on African American artists of the United States and includes important works by artists such as Betye Irene (Brown) Saar, Toyin Ojih Odutola, Samella Sanders Lewis, Benjamin Franklin (Rountree) Britt, Mequitta Ahuja, Syd Carpenter and Sana Musasama, Elizabeth Catlett, Varnette Honeywood, Hisyamuddin Abdullah , Louise Clement-Hoff, and Kimberly Camp, among others. In addition to excellent works of art, the sale features fine furniture from the collection of a Charleston, South Carolina gentleman including an exceptional federal bed attributed to Duncan Phyfe, along with a handsome federal banquet table also attributed to Phyfe. The sale also features excellent decorative arts, silver, crystal and chinese export and french porcelain. The auction will begin promptly at 10am EST on Saturday, September 6, 2025.
