Miller Carmichael was a distinguished Canadian businessman and a legendary collector whose life was defined by a profound appreciation for national heritage. As a leader at Carmichael Engineering, a centennial firm founded in Montreal, he combined industrial precision with an artist?s eye for detail. His collection represents a lifetime of passionate hunting for the rare and the beautiful, ranging from the rugged charm of Quebec folk art to the refined elegance of 19th-century fine furniture. This auction event offers collectors a rare opportunity to acquire pieces that served as the backdrop to the life of one of Canada's most respected connoisseurs: Canadiana: From a Quebec Diamond Point armoire to an Eby farmstead dry sink and a monumental refectory table, Canadian country furniture is well represented. Canadian Folk Art: A diverse array of paintings and hand-carved sculptures, including pieces by contemporary masters Joe Norris, Cyril Hirtle, and Ralph Boutilier.
