Antique & Modern Jewellery

October's auction of Antique & Modern Jewellery is set to be an exciting one, with an eclectic mix of lively gemstones, dazzling diamonds and pieces from well-known brands such as Cartier, Bulgari and Stephen Webster. Our cover lots (90, 100 and 105) are rich in colour and reminiscent of the looming festive season, making them ideal Christmas presents for those who like to plan ahead. Lot 90 is an Edwardian Coronation pendant skillfully designed with diamonds, seed pearls and enamel, whilst lot 100 features diamonds and a vibrant, cushion-shape red spinel (the same stone found on the British Crown Jewels). From timeless old-cut stones to designer solitaires, this auction will feature a tempting selection of quality diamonds. Lots 337 and 341 are both fine examples of modern brilliant-cut single-stone rings. However, if you prefer the more traditional design lot 353, which displays a classic old-cut diamond, could be just what you are looking for. Lot 291, a Tiffany pear-shape engagement ring is perfect for the admirer of luxury designer pieces, whilst lot 167 is the ultimate showstopper. At 4.05cts, with excellent colour and clarity, this striking diamond would make an exceptional engagement ring for that someone special. Other highlights in this month's sale include two moonstone necklaces - a stone celebrated for its mystical healing properties in many cultures. Lot 451 is designed as a moonstone fringe necklace which is set off perfectly by a single sapphire gemstone in the centre, whilst the moonstone cabochons presented in lot 511 are complimented by the piercing pink ruby stones. By chance, two compelling spider pieces have found their way into October's sale just in time for Halloween.
