Asian & Ethnographic Arts & Textile Auction

This season's two-day auction will feature institutional property from The Metropolitan Museum of Art; The Schenectady Museum; The Philadelphia Museum of Art; Fashion Institute of Technology; Shippensburg University; Ohio State University; The Children's Museum of Indianapolis and a Midwestern Institution; including a collection of Chinese embroidered robes and Russian headdresses. Property from private collectors and estates will also be sold, including a large collection of Christian Dior and other designer clothing and accessories from an important Washington DC estate. Friday Nov.1: Fabric samples and swatches, printed linen panels, two sets (14 panels) of Fortuny curtains, Mathieu Mategot tapestry, laces, embroideries museum collection of Chifu and other Chinese robes, several good kossu tapestries and other Chinese embroideries. Nurata and other Suzanis, Lakai embroidery, Ikats, Indian and Kashmiri textiles, Continental textiles and Oriental Carpets, including a palace size Sultanabad (14' x 24') will be sold.
