Stout Auctions is proud to offer a fantastic one-day sale of trains, accessories, catalogs and posters from the estate of Dr. Malcolm Kates, TCA 62-677. Also included will be additional trains from other collections. Dr. Kates was an avid model train and toy collector for over 50 years. He was president of the TCA Atlantic Division from 1999-2003, served on the National Board of Directors and helped organize the 2010 convention held in Philadelphia, PA. Malcolm devoted much of his time in researching and building an extensive collection of trains represented by a large variety of manufacturers and gauges including: Marklin, Bing, Guntherman, Lionel, Ives, Electoy, American Flyer, Hoge, Hafner, Overland Flyer and Marx. Highlights include Marklin gauge 1 clockwork armored loco, Lionel 215 armored boxed set, Ives 1081 and 1082 boxed freight sets, Lionel 408E state green electric loco, blue comet sets, AF Presidential Special set and tin clockwork set from the late 1800 ?s. Lionel postwar will be featured in the last portion of the auction showcasing a factory new 773 Hudson and 2330 GG1.
