Join us for the Southold Historical Society's annual auction of fine art on Saturday, April 26, 2014. The auction will take place at Castello di Borghese Vineyard, located at 17150 County Road 48, Cutchogue, NY, 11935. Preview begins at 6pm, with the auction beginning at 7pm. There is a $10 entry fee, which includes complimentary food and wine. Payment terms: Cash, pre-approved check, Visa, and Mastercard. In addition to works by living artists, which will include John Crimmins, Laura Westlake, Dominick DiLorenzo, Jada Rowland, Lee Cleary, and Barbara Zegarek, there will be a number of works by painters of our recent past. Some of the featured items include landscape and seascape paintings by Caroline M. Bell, Whitney M. Hubbard, Albert Latham, Otto J. Kurth, and Franklin G. Brooks. Other artists whose works will be offered for sale worked in a more modernist vane, and include award winning color field and abstract painter Sherron Francis and the late, noted painter and printmaker, Lowell Nesbitt. Items from a number of artists estates - including works by WPA artist Agnes Mills and paintings by Irma Braham - will also be included

Terms & Conditions
1. Any person participating or registering for the Auction agrees to be bound by and accepts these Terms and Conditions of Auction.
2. The seller will afford every opportunity to view all lots prior to sale. However the purchaser must understand that he/she is buying property entirely upon his own or his agent's examination and opinion. All lots are sold "AS IS, WHERE IS."
3. All Bidders must meet Auctioneer's qualifications to bid. Any Bidder who is not a client in good standing of the Auctioneer may be disqualified at Auctioneer's sole option and will not be awarded lots. Such determination may be made by Auctioneer in its sole and unlimited discretion, at any time prior to, during, or even after the close of the Auction. Auctioneer reserves the right to exclude any person from the auction.
4. Any guarantees written or implied to the authenticity, originality, or condition of any lot are not the guarantee of the Southold Historical Society, and should be determined by the purchaser's own inspection and discretion.
5. You must pay the stated sum in accordance with the following schedule: ALL BIDS ARE FINAL AT AUCTION. There is no "Cooling Off Period." If you are awarded the final bid, ownership changes hands at the drop of the gavel. You own the merchandise and are responsible for payment in full.
6. The Auctioneer has the right to sell certain unsold items after the close of the Auction. Such lots shall be considered sold during the Auction and all these Terms and Conditions shall apply to such sales including but not limited to the Buyer's Premium, return rights, and disclaimers.
7. Sales tax will be applied to all purchases made at the auction (unless a re-sale certificate is supplied).
8. Lots sold to out-of-town buyers who require packing and shipping are required to make those arrangements themselves. Buyers may contact the office at 631-765-5500 for information on local packing and shipping companies.
