August 3 Estate Auction

Michaan's estate auction features unique period finds, custom made property and lots benefiting charity in August. Among Fine Art estate offerings are paintings, sculpture, photographs and graphics; Jewelry often features period selections, timepieces, natural jadeite jade and quality diamonds; 20th Century Design lots commonly offer modern and contemporary artisan furniture, lighting and decorative objects and the Furniture and Decorative Arts section of the sale often includes silver, rugs and carpets, glassware, porcelains, figurines and American and European furniture. Select Asian works of art have also been chosen for Michaan's monthly sales, with fine jade carvings, porcelains, bronzes, glassware, scrolls and textiles often seen at auction. Highlights for the month of August include a Beniamino Benvenuto Bufano attributed sculpture titled "Eagle", a delightful Victorian jewelry suite, a beautifully decorated Chinese export famille rose punch bowl sold to benefit Greyhound Friends for Life and an Olsen-Nolte parade saddle with sterling silver elements. A mid-century modern classic will also be up for sale in Hans Wegner's original design Papa Bear Chair. In addition, Michaan's Coin & Stamp Department will present a worldwide auction collection of gold coins.
