Very Fragile Wrap, used mostly for items valued at $900.01 or more (total of all items in box), wraps the item in one layer of bubble wrap and floats it in a 1.5" peanut fill buffer inside the inner box which is then floated in a 2" peanut fill buffer inside the outer box. THE RULES and Procedures by Which We Are Governed Pak Mail US215 (Pak Mail) is independently owned and operated and its owners and employees are not agents or employees of Pak Mail Centers of America, Inc. Pak Mail will act only as an agent in handling of parcel(s) for its customer. Pak Mail will act on behalf of its customers in attempting to resolve a loss or damage claim but must be limited to the following: 1. Pak Mail must be the initiator of any and all correspondence with carrier regarding claim for loss or damage. You may NOT engage in correspondence of any kind with the carrier without Pak Mail's approval. 2. Unless shipping time has been determined to be longer, if your shipment does not arrive within 7 business days, please notify Pak Mail at the telephone and address on the front of your shipping receipt, or contained in the facsimile or e-mail you received. E-mail notification must be by reply e-mail to an e-mail you received from Pak Mail. 3. If your shipment is damaged: ï The consignee must contact Pak Mail immediately. Pak Mail cannot be liable for a claim that goes unreported for more than 45 days. This shall include, but not be limited to vacations. ï Ask the carrier to note any damage PRIOR to signing the carrierâs delivery receipt. Failure to do this may nullify any opportunity to have a claim paid. ï The consignee must save the box and all packing material for the carrierâs inspection. ï The consignee must not return or release any merchandise or packaging material to any carrier or carrier representative unless specifically instructed to do so by Pak Mail. 4. Value must be declared per item or package being shipped. If a lump sum declaration is made, losses will be paid on a pro-rata distribution on number of items andor parcels shipped. 5. Pak Mail will not be liable for any parcel shipped without adequate declared value coverage. Depreciation may be applied to declared value. 6. Pak Mail and its declared value coverage will not be liable in the event of breakage or internal damage to a customer packed parcel or to a Pak Mail packed parcel for which the customer has refused packaging appropriate for the carrier used. 7. For Pak Mail packed parcels, if you have declared a value for your shipment and you have protected that declared value, then, in case of loss or damage, Pak Mail will not be liable for more than: ï The cost of repair or replacement of the property, with material of like kind and quality; OR ï The cost of repair or replacement of the property at point of destination on the date of delivery with proper deduction for depreciation; OR ï The actual cash market value of the property at the destination on the date of delivery. 8. In no event will Pak Mailâs liability exceed the value declared on the shipping receipt. ï If no value is declared, if the value is not protected, or if proof of value does not exist, Pak Mail will not be liable for more than the coverage provided by carrier, if any. ï Pak Mail will not assume liability for payment of a claim in the event carrier denies claim in full or in part for carrier covered parcels. 9. Pak Mail will not be liable for damage to internal electrical or electronic equipment or circuits where no visible, external damage is evident or such damage was not recorded by the carrier (see 3, above). 10. Pak Mail will not be liable for damage, if the consignee accepts, signs for and opens a shipment (except see 3, above), or if the consignee refuses delivery, or if the shipment is returned as undeliverable. 11. It is the customerâs responsibility to provide a current appraisal or receipt for the item(s) being shipped in order to show proof of value. Declaring a value on the shipping receipt does not constitute proof of value. ï Appraisal or receipt must be less than one year old; AND ï Appraisal must have been completed by disinterested third party, competent in an appropriate field; ï AND Proof of value must exist and be available prior to shipping. 12. It is the customerâs responsibility to obtain repair or replacement estimates and any required supporting documentation. 13. Pak Mail will not be liable for failure of carrier to effect a timely delivery. Delivery dates and times are estimates on Pak Mailâs part and are based on information provided by carrier. 14. Pak Mail will not be liable for carrier to properly collect COD monies. 15. Pak Mail will not be liable for customerâs failure to properly address package or to correct an incorrect address. As a courtesy to you, Pak Mail will permit and encourage the carrier to correct an incorrect delivery address, including an incorrect telephone number, if it is possible to do so. If the carrier charges a fee for this service, the customer agrees to pay Pak Mail its standard fee for such service. 16. Pak Mail in no event shall be liable for any consequential or incidental loss, software or data media recovery costs, depreciated value, or special damages which may occur from acts of God, carrier negligence, water damage, disappearance, non-delivery, damage or delay of any shipment. This limitation shall apply to and include, but not be limited to, cash or other negotiable items, damages due to loss of profit, loss of income, or loss of bargain, or actual loss of said profit, income, or bargain. Terms and Conditions for the Packaging and Shipping of Auction Purchases Potential buyers are encouraged to contact Pak Mail for a quote prior to auction to obtain estimated packaging and shipping costs. Estimates are non-binding. Success or failure of buyer to obtain an estimate shall not alter the conditions described herein. Estimates should be requested at least 48 hours prior to auction to ensure completeness. See www.weshipeasterniowa.com for additional information. Fees associated with packaging and shipping are separate from and unrelated to auction settlement. Buyer must complete a separate creditdebit card sales agreement for packaging and shipping charges, and return completed agreement to Pak Mail, or present said card at our store, prior to the packaging and shipping of his or her item. In the event this, or any procedure described herein delays the packaging and shipping of buyer's item, storage or handling fees, or both may apply. Buyer agrees that, under no circumstances will she initiate a charge back on his or her credit or debit card for fees associated with the packaging, shipping, handling, and storage of his or her item(s), as described herein. Pak Mail will pack and ship items turned over to it by auction house representatives only. Depending on auction date, size of item(s) and location, it may take up to seven business days to transfer all items to Pak Mail's possession. Pak Mail will contact each buyer, individually, either in person, or via telephone or e-mail, with packaging and shipping recommendations for buyer's item(s). If telephonic or electronic contact information is not provided, or if buyer fails to respond in a timely manner to Pak Mail's initial or any subsequent communication, storage charges (per day per item) or handling fees or both may accrue. Under certain conditions, Pak Mail may pack and ship item using its best estimate, based on item fragility, value, size, weight, shipping method, and distance, and charge buyer's credit card for the price associated with this estimate. If shipping arrangements have not been agreed to within seven calendar days after Pak Mail has first attempted to contact buyer, a storage fee (per day per item), or a handling fee, or both may be charged, or the item may be packaged and shipped per previous paragraph; contact Pak Mail for details. Use of packaging and shipping materials, methods or procedures other than those recommended by Pak Mail, including, but not limited to alteration or cancellation of previously quoted materials, methods, procedures, charges, and fees, may result in labor charges, material charges, freight charges, storage fees, handling fees, or any combination thereof, in addition to charges for any or all work completed prior to such alteration or cancellation; contact Pak Mail for details. Cost of shipping properly packaged items or parcels will include a required signature, and declared value coverage, limited to the purchase price of the item or parcel ONLY. Pak Mail may refuse to provide declared value coverage for items or parcels packed and shipped using other than its recommended carriers, procedures, techniques, or materials. Pak Mail reserves the right to inspect all items or parcels offered for carriage and may refuse to tender illegal or improperly packaged items or parcels to carrier. If carrier or carrier's representative refuses to accept a tendered item or parcel, Pak Mail may, at its discretion, contact buyer or repackage item or parcel and re-tender to carrier, charging buyer's credit card appropriately for time and materials used to do so, and for any additional charges and fees, as described above. At its discretion, Pak Mail may ship firearms. Firearms (post 1899 weapon intended for individual use) shall be sent either via an overnight, morning delivery service or via a regional ground service available through Pak Mail. No declared value coverage will be provided. An Adult Signature will be required. No firearm will be sent until the recipient's FFL is on file with Pak Mail. Firearms will be sent to the address on the FFL only. A 10.00 surcharge will apply to each firearm shipment. No hazardous materials of any kind (examples: ammunition; perfume; spray-on lubricant) will be packaged or shipped.
