Asian Sculptures and Bronzes
The auction includes a fine selection of important sculptures and archaic bronzes from an old private collection of a noble family, which have never been offered on the art market in this form. The exceptional sculptural quality of early Asian art is exemplified in a Gandharan stone figure of a standing Buddha in flowing garment as well as the expressive and larger than life stone head of a Lokapala. Rare archaic ritual bronzes, such as a tapir-shaped ZUN vessel or a large Shang dynasty DING with cicada decoration, round off this spectacular sale.
