Rare books, Manuscripts, Judaica & art.

We are pleased to present you with Catalogue Number 89. This auction comprises hundreds of unique items in various categories: Our manuscript section includes extremely rare examples such as the 'Hemdat Hayamim' book handwritten by R. Shalom Shabazi with notes and glosses by the author, unknown elsewhere, and manuscripts from North Africa and Yemen as well as Torah commentaries from the Ashkenazic Scholars. The Judaica and books section portrays exceptional pieces such as an Anti-Semitic figurine of a praying Jew whose mechanism mocks the 'shuckling' motion, books belonging to Hasidic giants such as R. Yechezkel Shinover and a prayer book of R. Izikel of Antwerp. Our art gallery includes works by Avigdor Aricha and Yossele Bergner as well as an oil-canvas by Mane Katz. Archival material related to Zionism includes thousands of handwritten stencils from a personal archive from the pre-war era as well as many documents containing records of the Zionist movement in Palestine. There are quite a few of preliminary works on the Bible in Latin, highlighted by a rare full first edition of Bernard Picart's Cérémonies et coutumes religieuses de tous les peuples du monde (1723-1737) which includes hundreds of engraved illustrations.
