Art + Design

On September 24th, Wright brings an exciting selection of modern and contemporary works of art to auction in Art + Design. Standout among the sale?s offerings is an exceptional hanging wire sculpture by Ruth Asawa, Untitled (S.386). The work, a five-lobed, multi-layered form within a form with a small sphere, is a stellar example of the abstract wire forms for which Asawa is most well-known. Other significant artists whose works are featured in the sale include unique works by George Rickey, Louise Nevelson, Sol Lewitt, Robert Rauschenberg, Luis Tomasello, and Edgar Negret among many others. A selection of notable pieces, including a mixed media and oil on canvas work by George Chann, are being sold to benefit the Palm Springs Art Museum?s acquisition fund. Finally, remarkable designs by Claude and Xavier Lalanne, Marc Newson, Andre Dubreuil and Michelangelo Pistoletto will also be presented as we kick off the fall season.
