Dieu Donné Papermill's Benefit Auction
Shangri-La: Dieu Donné Papermill's 2005 Benefit Auction
This year’s benefit auction features original artwork created on Dieu Donné Paper by over 100 world-renowned and emerging artists, including Louise Bourgeois, Nina Bovasso, Jen DeNike, Lesley Dill, Kent Henricksen, Glenn Ligon, Jessica Stockholder and many more. The live auction will be conducted by Christopher Gaillard of Sotheby’s.
Dieu Donné was founded on the belief that handmade paper has an untapped potential as an art medium. The organization began as a studio where ideas could be recycled and explored through the process of making art in handmade paper. The studio was equipped to have artists who did not typically use paper as their medium work collaboratively with skilled papermakers. The energy and inventiveness that resulted transformed the field of contemporary art in paper.
