European arts: Fine ceramics & works of art

The sale includes a collection of historical plaster reproductions from the De Wispelaere workshop in Bruges. More info on the workshop can be found on our website: www.rm-auctions.com. As usual, we also sell important European ceramics and works of art. Notable lots are an extremely rare Dutch Delft blue and white cruet set consisting of 5 pieces, a pair of Dutch Delft polychrome wall sconces, a rare part tea service in blue & white Dutch Delft chinoiserie, a collection of blue and white herring plates and important dated Delftware plaques. From one private collection, we offer a beautiful selection of early continental stoneware: Two Siegburg stoneware schnelles with pewter lids, a large collection of bellarmine and other jugs from Raeren and Westerwald, and other interesting features. The paintings section is a bit thin: it features just one small private collection of miniatures. An excellent opportunity to fill in those blank spaces of your collection, with portraits of Napoleon and Madame de Pompadour, scenes after Rubens and the occasional nude. One last highlight we want to share: The French ceramic dish decorated with playing cards, originating in 18th C. Lille.
