Asian Antiques and Ethnographic Art

Asian antiquities including predynastic (neolithic and archaic), dynastic, and antique nephrite and hetian jade, jadeite, hardstone, and bronze sculpture, funerary art, bi discs, pendants, ornaments, and other art from China. Additional works include ethnographic art and jewelry from Africa and the Americas. All lots are listed without reserve or Buyer's Premium, including the rare museum quality Song Dynasty jade earth spirits and chimera funerary retinue. Personal Note: Neolithic and archaic jades are not for everyone – five thousand year old cultures have startling different aesthetics! We have several very small pei (amulets or toggles) that were clearly created for children, and other sculpture for cherished wives or shaman. One can feel aeons of ch'i embodied in these artifacts. I feel the same way about Native American silver and bead work. Truly beautiful work sings.
