Dining Culture: silver, porcelain & glass

Lovers of fine things can already start looking forward to this auction, featuring silver, porcelain and glass from three centuries. Among the highlights is a RussianKovsh with polychrome cloisonné walls, dated around 1892, which was traditionally used for drinking or pouring Russian national drinks. The silver pieces include a sterling silver coffee service by Georg Jensen, dated 1933-44, and a silver teapot with chafing dish by Mappin & Webb, manufactured in 1919. Moreover, there is a 12 person silver cutlery set by Pierre Queille from 1900. Meissen lovers can look forward to a pendulum clock decorated with Zeus, Chronos and Hephaestus, made in the 19th century, as well as a rare figure of Tsarina Catherine II of Russia on a horseback, also dating back to the 19th century. The glassware comprises highlights, such as an Art Deco vase by Marius Ernest Sabino, Paris, made in the 1930s.
