The Irish History Sale

An extraordinary collection of artifacts, manuscripts, photographs, and ephemera reflecting the history of Ireland from about 500BC to circa 1960. The sale includes an extremely important collection of mementos, manuscripts, documents, photographs and personal ephemera relating to Peadar Kearney, author of the Irish National Anthem and his service as an Irish Volunteer and his writings including a fully signed dated and authenticated manuscript verse of A Soldier's Song (The National Anthem)written in an internment camp during the War of Independence. The sale also includes Celtic gold ring money, a range of items connected with the Irish struggle for freedom including 1798 weapons, signed items by O'Connell, Parnell, Pearse, Connolly, Ceannt, Collins, and many others, 1916 Rising medals and uniforms and rare documents as well as the War of Independence Ceasefire Order of 9 July 1921 which brought hostilities to an end and marked the beginning of Ireland's transition to a Free State.
