The Magnificent September Auction 2016

In this sale we mark the launch of León Gallery?s new model for auctions, featuring a segment curated by Ramon N.Villegas and Lisa Guerrero Nakpil. Titled ?Two Navels?, it is inspired by the seminal novel, ?The Woman with Two Navels? by Nick Joaquin, an allusion to the multiple umbilical cords possessed by Filipino artists, past and present. Seventeen amazing works from the breadth and depth of Philippine art are organised around that theme. Apart from the impressive art pieces, we also offer important historical documents such as Jose Rizal's Noli mi Tangere manuscript in German and the architectural plans of Malacañang Palace, as well as the talisman or "anting-anting" of Andres Bonifacio
